The Borgo - on the border with Tuscany - is surrounded by four hectares of holiday paradise on the side of the Tiber valley. It consists of four independent apartments and two farmhouses, a chapel, a swimming pool, a tennis court, built around a military tower from the 1500s. The chapel, dedicated to Saint Lucia, dates back to 1707 in which its original monolithic stone altar is still present. Each of the houses is luxuriously finished with all the modern amenities you need.

La Tettoia is the largest of the houses at Borgo Il Poeta and is really very special. The dining room, which can accommodate up to ten, the large kitchen and a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. All these rooms have direct access to the terrace which runs along the front of the house and which has a long wooden table for al fresco dining. Stairs from the sitting room lead to a twin and double bedroom, both en-suite, and the final double bedroom en-suite bathroom is on the second floor and enjoying the view over the Tiber Valley.

Casa Santa Lucia is for two people, but it is very spacious. The entrance is at the rear of the house where there is a large lawn with outdoor furniture. The comfortable sitting room, with very large picture window overlooking the countryside. The en-suite bedroom has a four-poster canopy bed. Stairs lead down from the sitting room to the kitchen, dining room and outdoor seating area, which overlooks the central courtyard.

Casa La Torre is built around the original watchtower and sleeps four guests. The ground floor has a well-equipped sitting room, dining room and kitchen. It has a private garden for eating al fresco. At the top of the stairs leading up from the sitting room there is a lovely study decorated in a restful yellow, with writing desk and open fireplace. Opposite the study is a bathroom used by guests staying in the twin bedroom just along the corridor. At the end of the corridor and down a few steps is the master bedroom with parquet floor, antique furniture and large iron double bed. This room has an en-suite bathroom. The tower is the oldest part of the complex, dating back to the 16th century.

Casa Loggia is built on an incline, so that all the rooms are on different levels, giving it great character. The entrance leads in to the sitting room, which has steps down to a large dining room with fireplace and a separate small kitchen and larder. There is a short corridor from the living area leading to a large double bedroom with a king-size four-poster canopy bed and a twin bedroom, each with en-suite bathroom.. The second double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, is on the second floor and has sweeping views over the countryside.

Through a large entrance hall leads to the dining room and kitchen. A stone staircase goes up to the first floor and the bright and airy sitting room, which still retains the original fireplace. Doors from the sitting room lead to Casa Monte's external staircase, at the foot of which is the private seating area.

On the second floor there are a double bedroom, en-suite bathroom and study. The master bedroom, with an iron four-poster bed. This room has its own private terrace with wonderful views towards Montone and has an en-suite bath and basin and guests have use of a separate WC. Another twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom is also on the second floor.

La Casetta is the smallest of the houses and is set slightly apart from the others which makes it the most private.

This former hay barn has been converted to make the most of its space. The entrance leads into the sitting room with wooden beamed ceilings and stone floors. The sitting room leads through an archway into the small dining area and well-equipped kitchen. The large bedroom has an antique iron bed and en-suite bathroom with shower.
