Cala Martina: a beach between the crystal clear sea and the wild nature of Tuscany
Less known and frequented than Cala Violina, the charming Cala Martina still deserves consideration as it is a beautiful beach immersed in wild nature. Cala Martina is located between Follonica and Punta Ala, within the Natural Reserve of the Bandite of Scarlino, about 2 km away from Cala Violina.
Like Cala Violina, you can reach it on foot, walking along a beautiful panoramic, or by bicycle. The sea, in this small stretch covered with pebbles, has a beautiful transparent green colour. The beach is immersed in an unspoiled landscape. To preserve the wild nature of the place there are no kiosks or beach properties nearby.
Along the path leading to the beach there is a monument in honour of Garibaldi: hence, on September 2 1849, the famous hero of the two worlds embarked to reach Porto Venere.
How to reach Cala Martina
To reach this wonderful beach just follow the provincial road SP 158 of Collacchie until you reach Puntone. Go to the port and, once you reach the restaurant "Il Cantuccio", pass the bar leading to the trail. After about 2 km you will arrive in Cala Martina.
